POORLY PERMEABLE DRUGS
Highly
water soluble drugs (Class III), while easily soluble in biological liquids,
cannot effectively traverse epithelial membranes (composed of lipid layers)
and reach the bloodstream. Physica offers a proprietary technology which
addresses the issue of permeability.
Biodis Technology based on novel drug delivery agents or carriers can
be applied to Class III drugs. These carriers are amphiphilic reactive
lipids which bind to the drug in a non-covalent manner forming ion-pairs.
The molecular complex is absorbed more efficiently across biological barriers
due to its enhanced diffusion properties through lipid layers.
